This is a template Privacy Policy for demonstration purposes and has not been reviewed by legal counsel. Consult a qualified attorney before using it in production.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email, and payment details, as well as information generated by your use of NameGrid, such as domain search history and order records.
2. How We Use It
We use your information to provide and improve our services, process domain registrations and payments, communicate with you about your account, and comply with legal obligations.
3. WHOIS & Domain Registration Data
NameGrid is a reseller of domain registration services; when you register a domain, your registration data is also processed by our registrar partner and the relevant registry operator on our behalf. Every domain registered through NameGrid includes free WHOIS privacy by default, which replaces your personal contact details with proxy information in the public WHOIS record. Registry operators and ICANN may still require certain data for compliance purposes.
4. Payments & Wallet Data
Card payments are processed by PCI-compliant third-party payment processors; NameGrid does not store full card numbers. Wallet balances and transaction history are stored securely and associated with your account.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how NameGrid is used so we can improve it.
6. How We Share Information
We share information with service providers who help us operate NameGrid (such as payment processors and registry operators), and as required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and registry obligations.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
9. How We Protect Your Data
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews to help protect your information from unauthorized access.
10. Children's Privacy
NameGrid is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website.
